Meredith Beardmore

Meredith Beardmore is a flute player based in Naarm/Melbourne. Meredith plays exclusively on wooden simple system flutes, finding the nuance, immediacy, and tactile nature of these flutes much more alluring.

Despite the specialised instruments, Meredith has a varied practice: she is a devoted historically informed performer, particularly in connection to the music of the baroque; a folk flute player and writer; and a free improviser. She directs two ensembles: The Muses' Delight, a period chamber ensemble dedicated to historically informed performance; and prog folk quartet Tapsalteerie.
