Flutist Eliza Shephard and percussionist Alexander Meagher present a reimagining of the Ancient Greek mythological tale of Orpheus and Eurydice. Using a combination of narration, theatre and improvised music, they will depict Orpheus’ journey through the Underworld to save Eurydice with audience participation.
Eliza & Alex invite the audience to compose wishes based on the overarching themes of the story - love, loss, and hope, and these wishes will be scattered throughout the Labyrinth and encountered during the journey, conjuring ideas and emotions to further drive the musical material and structure.
This is a free family-friendly event. There will be two showings, one at 3:30pm and a second at 4:30pm. Please bring a picnic rug to enjoy the performances on.
