One of Australia’s leading flautists, Kim Falconer has recently won the position of Principal Flute of the Adelaide Symphony Orchestra. Born in Melbourne, Kim studied at the University of Melbourne (B. Mus with Hons.) and also at the Australian National Academy of Music.
In 2017, Kim moved to Sydney to undertake the Sydney Symphony Orchestra Fellowship. Kim has been on contract as Guest Principal Flute with Opera Australia Orchestra and Adelaide Symphony, and also performed regularly with Sydney Symphony Orchestra as Guest Principal Flute and Guest Principal Piccolo. Kim is a past winner of the Australian Flute Festival Open Competition.
