Montreal based Australian flutist Alex Huyghebaert completed her studies across three continents with teachers Denis Bluteau (McGill University), Thies Roorda (Royal Conservatorium den Hague), and Patrick Nolan (University of Queensland).
In the past three years Alex has performed over 30 world premieres, and since her time in Montreal has helped share more than 60 new pieces with the public. She is a member of the Montreal based ensemble Éclat and with them has recorded a collaboration with NASA as part of The Universe of Sound data sonification project. Alex is also the artistic director of collaborative contemporary music project REACH.
